Taste of Autumn II

Thanks to everyone who made it out to Taste of Autumn I. It was a wonderful evening and a great time was had by all. The menu selection was outstanding and I think you will agree that Dru Café is a wonderful space as it is just the right size to retain that homey supper club feel. If you missed it not to worry as Taste of Autumn II is coming up on the 12 November. You may have guessed that as well as mushrooms; chestnuts are my next favorite ‘peasant’ food, which is splendid as we are now in the heart of chestnut season. Check out this video on the @guardian website with Bruno Zoccola & Tim Hayward. They wax on about the chestnut season in Italy and stuff their faces with every manner of chestnut concoction. Argh! how it fills me with food envy. They even manage to fit in an instructional demo about scoring and roasting chestnuts too. So, I think next year I will take a fall trip to the Tuscany region. Anyone care to join me.
